WHO will you be?
We love exploring different characters with our ensembles in games like Here to There, Musical Characters, Who’s Knocking, Party Quirks, and this week’s A.B.L.E. at Home game - CHARACTER CHARADES! This game works with 2 or more people. It is a great way to develop nonverbal communication, emotional literacy, and physicalization. You can make up your own word bank, or click here to download some of our favorite character visuals.

WHERE do you want to go?
This past week was meant to be spring break for our ensembles. Instead, we had 3 shorter rehearsals focused on having some fun hanging out together without stressing about our final projects. In addition to some fun games that had us searching our homes for different objects, we also had a long check in around the question:
If you could go anywhere right now where would you go?
Paris: Sam F is looking forward to eating yummy croissants, and Maddi is hoping for a romantic honeymoon
Florida: Emily K and Emily L are off to Disney World, while Justice gets some sun in the Keys
Los Angeles: Maria, Andrew, and Marty are ready to see the stars, Maggie wants to visit the Brady Bunch house, Matt M. is going to meet LeBron James and shoot some hoops.
Hawaii: Colin is looking forward to swimming, and Mila is excited to stay in a hotel “with lots of chickens”
Nature: Sam P, Sam R, and Peter are hoping to go camping on a road trip to the National Parks. Natalia wants something a bit more exotic, and wants to see the animals on safari in Africa
New York: Hannah, Marissa, and Christian are excited to do some shopping and see some Broadway plays while Alena makes a guest appearance on Law & Order SVU.
Vegas: Matt D and Jack are ready to see more great shows!
Punta Cana: Anna wants to get some sun and spend time outside!
Road Trip: We could take an epic road trip to visit Ryan’s friends in Nashville, drive through Texas with Sandia, taking a stop in at Lucy’s dream destination of Austin, go with Claire to Arizona, and then up to San Francisco to see Sophie.
Maybe the most poignant came from our adult ensemble members Matt L and Jake. Matt said he would like to “go to the future, just a little, to see myself and know that things turn out okay” and Jake said he wants to go “to the movies, diners, shopping, and entertainment when we get back to normal.” That sounds good right about now…how about you?
WHAT is next?
As promised, this week, we’ll be announcing our reimagined spring projects! We are, of course, disappointed that we cannot be in a theatre sharing our work live and in person.
