Say "Hello" to our new Company Manager, Haley!

We are so excited to welcome the newest member to our team - Take a moment to meet our Company Manager Haley Schroeck!

About Haley

Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Haley moved to Chicago in 2021, bringing with her a passion for inclusive storytelling and arts education. While her artistic journey began in dance, she became involved in the theatre community by assisting her sister, Dorsey- who has cerebral palsy- in her first play and then was hooked! Because of that, she completed her B.A. in Theatre Studies at Louisiana State University and will receive her M.Ed in Educational Leadership in June 2025. Her career spans performance, directing, choreography, and stage management in addition to her extensive experience in educational theatre across the Southeast and beyond. Some of her favorite credits include Mamma Mia, A Year with Frog and Toad, The Rocky Horror Show, and Avenue Q. When getting back to her dancing roots, Haley loves to turn up "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" by Whitney Houston.

What does the Company Manager do?

As Company Manager, Haley will bring her organization, focus, and problem-solving skills to oversee the varied day-to-day operations of A.B.L.E.’s ensembles and outreach programs. This includes producing performances, managing staff and volunteers, negotiating contracts with partners, managing our program budget, evaluating our programs, and supporting bigger picture planning and decision-making.

Thanks to your continued support, we were able to make The Company Manager a full-time role. This is a huge step to improving the capacity of our team, and ensuring we have a stable base to follow through on all our dreams for the future.

Want to help welcome Haley?

The Company Manager is the central point of contact for all the actors, caregivers, volunteers, and organizational partners who work with our programs. Help Haley get to know our community by sending a message and sharing more about your connection to A.B.L.E.

With Haley’s arrival, we are also bidding a fond farewell to our Program Manager, Beth Sherwood. Beth started with ABLE as a facilitator in 2015 before joining our staff as Program Manager in 2022. In her time with us, she helped us return to in-person programming, build our Creative Associates initiative, develop new outreach partnerships to serve more people throughout the year, and establish new venue partners. Thank you for all the ways you helped to keep us connected and creating, Beth.
