A.B.L.E. means so many things to so many people, but it is only possible with the support of our community. Like many performing arts organizations around the country, A.B.L.E. has seen both a decline in donations coupled with rising costs over the past few years. We need your support now more than ever to continue offering "energetic, accessible, compassionate, loving, fun space for individuals with disabilities to explore their creativity. By contributing to #giveABLE23, you’re proving that in times of uncertainty, generosity can bring the whole world together.
Your donation can help us continue our innovative performing arts programs, like our signature Ensemble program. Supported by a team of teaching artists and volunteer facilitators, Ensembles work together to create theatre and film projects. These weekly sessions provide a vital creative and social outlet for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our team is hard at work developing plans for our spring production of The Odyssey, but we truly can't do it without you.
Here’s what your dollars can do:
Give Time Together!
The rehearsal room is a space for creativity, exploration, risk taking and support. A donation of $35 could cover one hour of studio rental for a rehearsal. We typically spend around 130 hours in the studio every semester!
Give Connection!
A donation of $50 could provide a monthly tech or travel stipend to a program participant or volunteer who needs assistance to get to rehearsal or provide a trained Teaching Artist for one hour of rehearsal.
Give Support!
A.B.L.E. provides customized sensory tools and visual aids at every rehearsal to accommodate different learning styles and needs. A donation of $125 could create new materials for one ensemble for a semester.
Give the Power of Story!
At the start of each semester, members of the virtual ensemble receive a personalized story kit with scripts, activities, and resources in the mail at the beginning of the semester. A donation of $250 could cover packaging and postage for the kits for a semester.
Give a Semester in the Ensemble!
We believe everyone should be able to participate regardless of finances, and offer pay-what-you-can registration. A donation of $425 could sponsor registration fees for one ensemble member for a semester.
In rehearsals, we know each member of the ensemble plays an important role in what we build together. And you play an important role in ensuring A.B.L.E. can continue providing professional, accessible performing arts programming for people of all abilities. Every dollar makes a difference, so:
