About the Virtual Ensemble

Bring all the fun of our weekly rehearsals into your own home with our active and engaging virtual sessions.

Every week, actors and facilitators Zoom in from across the country for sessions. Actors transform their homes into film sets, go on storytelling adventures, play games, and create short-form film projects.

A.B.L.E.’s virtual ensemble is the perfect fit for actors with I/DD who live far from our hub in Chicago, struggle with reliable transportation, or prefer to stay home because of sensory or social needs. At the start of the semester, we’ll mail you a customized resource kit with props, visual aids, and other supports to make the most of your online experience.

Attendance

Theatre-making is a team effort. Your presence impacts not just you, but your scene partners and the rest of the group. We expect actors who commit to a virtual ensemble will make rehearsal a priority. If you anticipate you will miss 2 or more rehearsals, please take a break this semester to make space for someone else.

Technology Assistance

A.B.L.E. offers technology assistance to help actors connect online, including equipment loans and stipends for high-speed internet access. If you need assistance to get connected, please note this on your registration form.
