About Showcase Ensembles

These intensives welcome new and returning actors to explore different performance styles like improvisation, physical theatre, and storytelling.

Supported by a team of teaching artists and volunteer facilitators, actors learn foundational theatre skills and build relationships while collaborating on a 30-45 minute cabaret-style showcase that is shared at the end of the 6-week semester.

Fall 2026 programming is focused on short courses and workshops. Please see that page for current offerings.

Attendance

Theatre-making is a team effort. Your presence impacts not just you but your scene partners and the rest of the group. We expect actors who commit to an ensemble to make rehearsal a priority. If you anticipate you will miss 2 or more rehearsals, please take a break this semester to make space for someone else.

The staff support from A.B.L.E. is different than anywhere else. Seeing Peter on stage with the support that stands behind him and goes with his flow to make him the star is incredible. A.B.L.E. gets how to properly support Peter, so he can do it!
